The predicted salary is between 13 - 20 £ per hour.

We are looking for HGV Class 1 & 2 drivers to work on a full-time basis for days on our waste water contract. Driving a vacuum tanker, the work incorporates tankering various non-hazardous liquids from sites to disposal facilities across the region. You will be provided with a phone and an app to outline the jobs that have been assigned to you by the Operations Supervisor.

Hours: 4 days on 4 days off to cover nights.

Salary: £17phr. 20% uplift for nights.

Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.

This position is open to Internal and External candidates. Any internal candidates currently employed within a division of the Lanes Group must complete an Internal Application form and submit to recruitment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate HGV-mounted vacuum and tankers for drainage and waste management tasks.
  • Independently manage job sites, ensuring safe practices and high-quality work.
  • Communicate professionally with customers.
  • Accurately complete job reports and system updates.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting any faults promptly.
  • Maintain high health and safety standards, including proper PPE use and regulatory compliance.

Experience And Qualifications:

  • HGV class 1 or class 2 driving licence
  • Valid in-date CPC and up-to-date tachograph

Requirements: You must hold a full HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence with CPC and a valid tachograph card. The role involves driving a vacuum tanker and servicing sites across the region, with the use of a phone and app to receive job assignments from the Operations Supervisor.
