We are recruiting for Site Supervisors to deliver exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. About The Role
As a Site Supervisor, you will:
- Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
- Experience and ability to encourage and enable personal development.
- Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
- Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in all activities concerning civil works aspects of the contract. Optimize resources by scheduling work appropriately with the assistance of the scheduling team.
- Manage the team’s fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works. Demonstrate good organisational skills, following policies, procedures, and work practices, and developing improvements where necessary.
- Produce method statements and procedures. Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related to work and engineering documentation. Keep records of all work completed and ensure client systems are updated in real time.
- Command respect of the workforce and develop excellent working relationships with other department personnel as well as client management.
- Communicate confidently with internal and external clients.
- Give instructions efficiently and effectively to the workforce and be responsible for daily management of the teams.
- Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, location, and placement of pipe sections and understand shoring designs.
- Ensure crews are supplied with tools, equipment, and materials, prevent wastage and misuse, supervise work, enforce discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices, and idleness.
- Be familiar with all HS&E and Quality procedures, regulations and strictly enforce them with the workforce.
- Ensure day‑to‑day well‑being of the teams under your control, identify, formulate, and implement training programs for the workforce.
- Comply with the highest level of safety during all stages of work to avoid incidents and/or accidents.
About You
- Have previous experience of supervision within the Waste Water Industry.
- Hold a full UK driving license.
- Have previous managerial experience – essential for this role.
- Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent time‑management skills, with ability to deliver tasks by deadline.
- Strong leadership qualities with ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving targets.
- A proactive approach to problem‑solving with a focus on achieving results.
- Proven experience in a previous Supervisor Role within the Utilities Sector – preferably in the Drainage Industry.
Working Hours & Location
- Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week.
- Location: Rotherham and surrounding regional areas.
- Salary: £38,000 – £42,000.
- Company car / car allowance.
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
