We are currently recruiting for a Civils Drainage Engineer to join our team in Yorkshire. You will be working within a team to carry out groundwork tasks including digging trenches, excavations, laying pipes, spot repairs and surface preparation for repair. You will also provide exceptional customer service across the Malton area.
About the Role
- Location: Malton, Yorkshire
- Hours: 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7 am‑5 pm with a paid lunch). Overtime is also available at time‑and‑a‑half.

Responsibilities
- Carry out groundwork tasks such as digging trenches, laying pipes, spot repairs and preparing surfaces for construction.
- Install and maintain over‑pumping systems and maintain safe excavations with installation of ground support.
- Update and complete site documentation using an electronic tablet.
- Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently to assist with various tasks.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements, safe system of work and health and safety regulations; report any issues.
- Maintain equipment and tools to keep them in good working condition.
- Wear and maintain any personal protective equipment (PPE) provided at all times.
- Ensure on‑site and off‑site areas are live to avoid any penalties with highways permits.
- Read and understand drainage plans.
- Record photographic evidence of jobs performed and completed.
Experience and Qualifications
- Full UK driving license (required).
- Ideal candidate has a civils background from utilities and multiple training tickets, e.g. NPORS, Banksman, Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid, NRSWA, EUSR National Water Hygiene, Asbestos Awareness, CPC Driver Training (HGV only), Slinger and Signaller, Abrive Wheels, Calm Water, EUSR Safe Dig – Cat & Genny, EUSR Water SHE, Face Fit Tested – FFP3, Dumper Wheeled Forward Tipping, EUSR Shuttering & Shoring – Deep Excavation, Excavator Above10Ton – Tracked, Excavator Below10Ton – Tracked, NRSWA – Operative Units (LA,01‑06), Sygma Solutions, Confined Spaces, SSSTS or SMSTS, Excavator used as Crane Lifting Operations.
