Full training, PPE, and company equipment will be provided to ensure that all drainage engineers have the right tools and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standards.
Position: Van Pack Drainage Engineer
Location: Camberley Sewage Treatment Works, Home Counties Region (Camberley, Surrey)
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours plus every other weekend (working both earlies and lates)
Salary: OTE £37,000 per annum (made up of basic pay, overtime, on-call allowance and bonuses)

About The Role:
We are looking for customer-focused individuals to join our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems. Responsibilities include:
- Travelling to residential sites in a van
- Powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration
- Cleaning, clearing and maintaining drainage systems
- Recording job reports on specialist equipment
- Running diagnostics and repairs on drains
- Delivering good customer service
- Maintaining health and safety practices
- Ensuring vehicle stock is full and replenished
- Complying with health and safety responsibilities
- Utilising VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
- Working unsupervised in all weather conditions
- Dynamically risk assessing site access and working conditions
- Liaising with clients regarding processes and updates
- Providing support to colleagues
- Conducting thorough inspections of tools and equipment
- Reporting defects or malfunctions
- Carrying out risk assessments
- Being aware of Lanes Group policies
- Completing any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks as requested by management
If you enjoy working outdoors and delivering excellent customer service, we are the right company for you. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, respectful, and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience with High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are advantageous. A full UK driver’s licence is required as our vehicles are manual.
