Choose a career with the UK’s biggest independent drainage specialist. The Lanes Group needs a Tanker Cleaner to join our Operational Team, working within a well-established team that is looking to expand further with another strong member of staff.
The job: You will be working independently operating our high specification tankering vacuumation units. Work projects will include any drainage related issues, moving treated and untreated waste product, assisting with remedial works on our Severn Trent Water sites and emergency reactive works. Although you start at the depot, you will be mobile attending to all work activities within various work sectors, including industrial, utility, commercial, and residential. Travelling in your vehicle, you will be covering jobs throughout the region which can involve travel times added in addition.
About you: You may already be familiar with vacuumation tankering works, but no problem if not, as full training will be given for the right candidates. You will be required to hold an HGV Class 2 licence, with no more than 6 penalty points ideally. A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is desirable. The following skills are also useful:
- Competent in using an electronic device – laptop/tablet for data entry.
- Physical fitness and lots of energy.
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points.
- HGV 1 or 2 Licence.
- Industry related qualifications such as NRSWA and Confined Space (desirable).
To work in the Utilities industry, you may have to compete with inclement weather outdoors. Protective clothing such as a hi-vis jacket, boots, and a helmet are provided. Due to contract needs, you may be required to start and finish outside of your normal working pattern. You will be expected to comply with all Group Health Safety and Environmental compliance. Full training will be provided as part of a Group Induction. A training package which will include high pressure jetting course, confined space, manual handling, first aid and other relevant courses will be arranged upon commencement of employment.
