Location: Swindon Treatment Works, Swindon, Wiltshire

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours plus every other weekend (working both early and late)

Salary: OTE £37,000 per annum (basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses)

About the Role: We are looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to residential sites in a van, responsible for powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
  • Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
  • Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
  • Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
  • Deliver good customer service.
  • Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works.
  • Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
  • Comply with health & safety responsibilities, i.e. PPE / safe site setups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users.
  • Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
  • Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE and utilising the lone worker system.
  • Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.
  • Liaise with the client regarding process and any updates.
  • Provide support to your colleagues.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use.
  • Report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception.
  • Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be hard working, respectful, and comply with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of high-pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and confined spaces) are an advantage. Must have a full UK driver’s licence; vehicles are all manual.
