We are recruiting for a Mobile Fitter Engineer covering the Southern Water area.

Location: Based out of the Millbrook depot (covering Southampton area) but travelling across all of the Southern Water area which covers Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 Hours

Salary: up to £55,000 per annum (made up of basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses)

About the Role

  • You will be responsible for a wide variety of vehicle related maintenance including but not limited to:
    • Hydraulic and High Pressure Jetting Systems: Possess in-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, hoses, and control mechanisms. Specialise in maintaining and troubleshooting high-pressure jetting systems used in drain and sewer cleaning operations. Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure the optimal performance of hydraulic and jetting equipment.
    • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the company's fleet of vehicles, with a particular emphasis on hydraulic components. Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic and high-pressure jetting system issues to ensure timely and effective repairs. Perform preventive maintenance tasks on hydraulic systems to maximise reliability.
    • Repair and Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies involving hydraulic and jetting systems, providing on-site repairs to minimise downtime. Utilise diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and rectify technical issues related to high-pressure equipment. Collaborate with the wider team to analyse recurring problems and implement preventive measures.
    • Legislation and Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and industry standards related to hydraulic systems and high-pressure jetting operations. Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices. Implement and promote safe working practices among the team in accordance with legal requirements. Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.

About You

  • The ideal candidate will be hard working and respectful and comply with health and safety standards.
  • Having a strong background in commercial HGV vehicle servicing is essential.
  • You will need to have a Class B Driving Licence and fully recognised industry qualifications (City & Guilds or Industry Equivalent).
  • Class C+E / HGV Class 2 Drivers Licence are essential.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications would be useful.
  • Previous water industry experience is preferred and hydraulics experience is desirable.
