We are looking for experienced Tree Climbers to join our team working on vegetation management projects. This is a hands‑on role carrying out tree works in a rail environment, requiring safe climbing and rigging techniques as well as strict adherence to railway safety standards.

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out climbing, aerial cutting, rigging, and tree dismantling in line with rail standards.
  • Deliver vegetation clearance, tree felling, and maintenance along the railway.
  • Work safely within the TfL environment, following all Rule Book and Sentinel requirements.
  • Operate and maintain climbing and chainsaw equipment to legal and rail standards.
  • Complete daily risk assessments, inspections, and safety briefings.
  • Support ground operations, including rope work and timber processing.
  • Work flexibly, including nights, weekends, and during rail possessions.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Tree Climber/Arborist, ideally within the rail industry.
  • NPTC/LANTRA qualifications, including:
    • Chainsaw maintenance & cross cutting (CS30/201)
    • Felling small trees (CS31/202)
    • Aerial tree rescue (CS38/206 & 306)
    • Aerial cutting with a chainsaw using free‑fall techniques (CS39/308)
  • PTS (Personal Track Safety) / Sentinel card – essential.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 penalty points).
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and environmental legislation.
  • Additional qualifications desirable:
    • MEWP (IPAF)
    • Woodchipper
    • Brush cutter / strimmer
    • First Aid +F (Forestry)
  • If you don’t currently possess these qualifications, we will provide the training.
