Full training, PPE, and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation.
Position: Drainage Engineer
Location: Kidlington, Oxfordshire
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 50 hours (plus some weekends)
Salary: OTE £34,000 per annum (made up of basic pay, overtime, on-call allowance and bonuses)

About the Role:
- Due to continued growth, we are looking for customer-focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service.
- Travelling to residential sites via HGV in a two-person team, powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
- Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
- Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
- Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
- Deliver good customer service.
- Maintain good health and safety practices while carrying out works.
- Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
- Comply with health and safety responsibilities, protecting Lanes Group employees, the public, and other road users.
- Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
- Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
- Work unsupervised in all weather conditions using correct PPE.
- Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions.
- Provide support to colleagues.
- Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment, and plant before/after use.
- Report any defects or malfunctions.
- Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
- Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibility towards them.
- Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.

About You:
The ideal candidate will be hard-working, respectful, and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
