In this critical role, you will ensure our organisation is known for being the best in everything we do, leaving a legacy of absolute quality and compliance, and keeping our promises at all times. We operate 24/7 and as such you are required to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on-call rota. Full training, PPE, and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.

Position: HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer
Location: Deephams, North London
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 4 days on 4 days off, 40.25 hours - Nights
Salary: OTE £55,000 (made up of basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses)

About the Role: Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems. You will be travelling to residential sites in a HGV, around the North London area powering a high pressure water jet for restoration, cleaning, clearing, repairing and maintaining drainage systems.

  • Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
  • Run diagnostics and repairs on drains using electro mechanical and specialist CCTV survey equipment.
  • Rodding blockages.
  • Delivering good customer service.
  • Maintaining good H&S practice while carrying out works.

About You: The ideal candidate will be hard working and respectful and comply with health and safety standards. Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage. You must have a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence and you must have completed the certificate of professional competence (CPC) and an up to date digi tachograph card.
