Working closely with the Divisional Manager and Technical Manager, the role involves responding to internal and external enquiries to support sales growth. The Estimator reviews project documentation and CCTV survey information to identify the best solution for the client.
Responsibilities
- From available information, create quotations using agreed rates and the CRM system for approval by the Divisional Manager.
- Obtain material suppliers and specialist subcontractor quotes when required.
- Depending on the project type, pass the project over to a sales lead to close the sale or maintain ownership up to receipt of purchase order.
- At receipt of order, complete thorough handover of the project to service delivery teams.
- During delivery of the project, provide advice on any commercial aspects of the project where requested.
- Maintain good time management and the ability to work quickly and accurately on several IT platforms to meet strict deadlines.
- Take ownership of the estimating process for all routine enquiries from initial contact to contract award.
- Populate and update CRM and other relevant systems with opportunities and quotes in a timely and accurate manner to ensure management information is up to date.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ideally 2 years plus experience estimating.
- Use of cloud-based IT systems.
- Some basic knowledge of typical contracts such as NEC.
- Technical knowledge of utilities and/or drainage.
- High level of numeracy with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CRM experience.
