We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our growing team in the North West. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of projects within the utilities and highways sector, delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced and often unpredictable operational environment. You will play a key role in leading projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery against key customer, quality, safety, and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects across the full lifecycle using the core project management principles: Plan, Organise, Lead & Control
- Deliver highways drainage surveys, CCTV inspections, and wastewater asset surveys
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary and remote teams
- Ensure effective communication between project delivery teams, depots, clients, and stakeholders
- Manage all commercial aspects of projects across various contractual arrangements
- Implement problem-solving strategies and informed decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives
- Mentor and develop less experienced team members
- Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of office-based and field teams
- Maintain exceptional levels of customer service for both internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to business growth through high-quality service delivery and repeat business
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing projects and leading teams, ideally within utilities, highways, or similar sectors
- Strong organisational and commercial awareness with the ability to meet and exceed financial targets
- Experience working in high-risk environments (e.g. highways, confined spaces)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication skills with high emotional intelligence and stakeholder engagement capability at all levels
- Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvements
- A proactive, results-driven approach with a commitment to exceeding client expectations
- High level of IT literacy, including MS Office and work management systems
- Knowledge of drainage and sewer networks (advantageous)
Qualifications & Requirements
- PRINCE2, APM or equivalent Project Management qualification
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
