The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 Β£ per year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Drainage Assistant to join our team working out of our Leeds Depot. You will be working alongside experienced engineers to carry out surveys of drainage systems, learning how to assess conditions, identify defects, and support maintenance and repair strategies. This is a permanent full-time role, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Assist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages, structural defects, infiltration and root ingress.
- Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains, sewers, and pipework.
- Remove waste materials and prevent build-up in wastewater systems.
- Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readiness.
- Support CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
- Assist in emergency response situations, including flooding and urgent drainage issues.
- Learn to complete job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) under supervision.
A strong interest in drainage, utilities or civil engineering is required, along with a practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential, as well as basic computer skills and a desire to learn new software.
Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points) is required.
