About the Role
Due to continued growth and development, we are looking for customer‑focused people to join our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract to deliver solutions to waste‑water network and drainage problems.
Responsibilities
- Travelling to residential sites via an HGV in a two‑person team, around the region, to power a high‑pressure water jet for restoration.
- Cleaning, clearing and maintaining drainage systems.
- Recording each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
- Running diagnostics and repairs on drains.
- Delivering good customer service.
- Maintaining good health and safety practice while carrying out works.
- Ensuring vehicle stock is full and replenished.
- Complying with health and safety responsibilities, i. e. PPE / safe site setups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users.
- Utilising VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
- Operating JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment.
- Safely accessing vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures (e. g., three points of contact).
- Manipulating (including loading and unloading to/from tanker pipe storage trays) flexible pipework in a safe manner utilising correct manual handling techniques.
- Working unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE or utilising the lone worker system.
- Dynamically risk‑assessing site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.
- Liaising with the client regarding process and any updates.
- Providing support to colleagues.
- Conducting thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use.
- Reporting any defects or malfunctions.
- Carrying out risk assessments and approaching risk perception maturely.
- Being aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them.
- Performing other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management.
About You
The ideal candidate will be hardworking, respectful and compliant with health and safety standards.
Experience with High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
Other drainage qualifications (e. g.
NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage.
You must have a minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence, a completed Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and an up‑to‑date digital tachograph card.
