Overview

Site Supervisors are sought to join Lanes Group on a major contract with Yorkshire Water, supporting proactive and reactive maintenance of the wastewater network for the next five years and beyond.

You will deliver exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire, contributing to AMP8 objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational teams within a defined catchment and manage end-to-end works while delivering an exceptional customer journey.
  • Ensure team members perform their responsibilities and conduct site inspections, coordinate crews from the depot, manage fleet issues, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team, Client, and Local Authority to agree the extent of works and maintain relationships.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and address concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Encourage and enable personal development within the team.
  • Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
  • Ensure all work complies with Lanes Group standards, policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Lead Civils Operatives and Gangers on civil works, optimise resources with scheduling support, and manage fleet/material needs for timely completion.
  • Produce method statements and procedures; read and interpret specifications, drawings, and related engineering documentation; keep records of all work completed and ensure client systems are updated in real time.
  • Foster respect and strong working relationships with other departments and client management.
  • Communicate confidently with internal and external clients and provide clear, efficient instructions to the workforce.
  • Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixes, and shoring concepts.
  • Ensure crews are supplied with tools, equipment, and materials; prevent waste and misuse; supervise to optimise manpower and materials; enforce safety and attendance at the work site.
  • Enforce HS&E and quality procedures and regulations with the workforce.
  • Identify, plan, and implement training programs for the workforce; maintain a focus on safety throughout all stages of work.
  • Adhere to the highest safety standards to prevent incidents and accidents.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising within the Waste Water Industry.
  • Full UK valid driving license.
  • Experience in people management; able to motivate and develop employees.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership qualities with the ability to guide teams toward targets.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on results.
  • Previous Supervisor experience within the Utilities sector, preferably in drainage.
  • Working Hours & Location
  • Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week.
  • Location: Malton, Aldwarke, Bradford and surrounding areas.
  • Company car or car allowance.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
