The Assistant Depot Manager is responsible for the planning and organisation of the Traffic Management Operatives response team activities, ensuring the team has the correct equipment and information to complete all works safely and efficiently and ensuring that work is completed within the required timescale, working within the agreed SLA/KPI targets set by our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previously held a supervisory position and is looking to progress into a management role. This is predominantly an office based role however a company van is provided to enable you to work on various sites as and when required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organise Traffic Management Operatives response team activities.
  • Ensure the team has correct equipment and information to complete all works safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure that work is completed within the required timescale and within agreed SLA/KPI targets set by our clients.
  • Allocate Operatives to correct jobs.
  • Coordinate with the Sapphire Planning Team.
  • Coordinate with client representatives.
  • Populate On and Of Hire sheets correctly.
  • Manage company vehicles and plant within the depot, ensuring they are calibrated and serviced correctly with support from the transport division.
  • Be on the standby rota and respond as required.
  • Implement depot health & safety procedures.
  • Carry out Toolbox Talk (TBT) sessions.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
  • Serve as a full‑time manager in a busy, growing department.

Qualifications

  • Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft packages.
  • Previous traffic management experience and experience of liaising and leading a team.
  • Ability to schedule work to maximise productivity and optimise asset usage.
  • Valid full driving licence.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Competent in operating Lanta M1, M2, M3, M5, and M6 vehicles.
