SEO is a growing part of Lane's offering.
As part of the team you'll work under the direction of the Senior SEO Manager to align on strategy and methodology, while running the day-to-day relationship and delivery for your own client roster.
At Lane our talented team of specialists deliver multiple services from brand proposition to performance marketing.
The SEO Account Manager position will be accountable and responsible for the management of a portfolio of SEO clients, owning delivery, client relationships and results within Lane's established SEO approach.

The role is based at our office in Edinburgh, where we operate a hybrid approach to work, with flexible working hours across a 3:2 working model with regular office attendance expected on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Our office is a modern, open plan, relaxed working space.
The Role
- Manage the day-to-day relationship and delivery for an assigned client roster, including calls, reporting and account management, following Lane's SEO approach.
- Lead keyword research and content briefing in collaboration with the content team, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
- Communicate SEO performance and recommendations directly to clients, including pushing back on unreasonable asks where the data doesn't support them.
- Tie SEO work to commercial outcomes for clients, not just rankings and traffic movement.
- Evaluate AI search visibility as an extension of core SEO fundamentals, not a separate discipline.
- Provide a clear status of client SEO activity, ensuring we're consistently adding value to each client's position.
- Support the Senior SEO Manager in spotting and developing SEO opportunities across the wider client base.
- Run and interpret technical SEO audits using primary data from tools like Ahrefs, GSC and GA4.
Experience
- 3-5 years work experience in a dedicated SEO role, agency or in-house.
- Direct client-facing experience: running calls, managing expectations, owning the relationship.
- Confident working directly with Ahrefs (or equivalent tools), Google Search Console and GA4.
- Ability to evaluate content quality from an SEO and user-centric perspective.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Collaborative, comfortable working within an established methodology while contributing ideas.
- Strong time management skills, able to manage multiple accounts to time and budget.
- Ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders across levels of seniority.
