An exciting opportunity has arisen at LCP Delta for an electricity network focused Consultant to join a successful and growing team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic and innovative projects for electricity network organisations, navigating the energy transition's regulatory, economic and engineering challenges.

We are a unique team because LCP Delta provides 360 coverage of the new energy value chain, meaning the Energy Networks Team can provide its clients the following:

  • Innovation: Support network operators in exploring, developing and delivering innovation and new flexibility and DSO solutions on their networks.
  • Network and asset optimisation modelling: Model the cost and operational impacts of different demand and generation scenarios, regulatory changes and flexibility deployment on electricity and gas networks.
  • Policy and economic impact: Economic analysis to help clients understand the impacts of policy and regulatory decisions on the energy system and on their assets.
  • Asset investment and business planning: We support long-term investment and business planning via our deep market insight and scenario-building expertise.

What will you be doing? You would join a successful and growing Energy Networks Team, with a strong reputation in the network sector. This role will be an important step in building our team and capabilities to achieve our strategy and will provide an exciting opportunity in the network consulting sector. Specifically you will:

  • Become a recognised expert in networks within LCP Delta and externally.
  • Lead and influence the future of the electricity system through strategy development and innovation projects.
  • Establish and develop relationships with network clients and stakeholders industry and contribute to the development of the business.
  • Jointly lead the development and delivery of innovation projects, with a focus on building strong partnerships with electricity networks and external stakeholders.
  • Actively identify opportunities to leverage LCP Delta’s technology and data solutions by developing relevant use cases and integrating them into project and work package design.
  • Drive and influence a growing Energy Networks Team, including our consulting projects, technology products and services.

The position will support the winning and delivery of electricity distribution network projects in LCP Delta in a range of forms, notably:

  • Engagement with electricity distribution network stakeholders and account management of some LCP Delta network clients and contacts.
  • Writing and reviewing technical reports and proposals, as well as maintaining client relationships.
  • Leading and supporting the writing of proposals for commercial and innovation/grant-funded network projects.
  • Lead network innovation project ideation, ensuring strong external engagement with energy network clients and partners to shape and develop project ideas.
  • Bridge innovation and consulting projects with LCP Delta’s digital, data, and technology offerings, ensuring our solutions are embedded and exploited within project deliverables.
  • Identify and articulate commercial and technical use cases for LCP Delta’s data and technology products within the scope of network innovation and consultancy projects.

What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for?

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or equivalent experience (Master’s/PhD/MBA preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of electric power industry, electricity networks (transmission & distribution); gas distribution experience is a plus.
  • Proven consulting experience in power systems design, analysis, and simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident engaging with clients.
  • Experience in project management and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Requires strong knowledge of the application of technical & business-related consulting for the electricity networks market and the impacts of products, equipment and engineering concepts and practices as contributors to potential recommended solutions.
  • Commercially aware, analytical, and proactive in solving problems and identifying opportunities.
  • Able to influence senior decision-makers with technical and business insights.
