Location: The role is based in London, Victoria. The role offers hybrid working, with the majority of the working week in the office. We recommend discussing arrangements with the hiring manager to find the best fit for both you and the role.
The Team: You will join the new Commercial Finance, Performance and Planning team, driving system-led planning and reporting.
The role: This is an exciting time for the Commercial Finance Team in terms of planning and performance management. Following successful implementation of new financial planning and reporting tools, we are undergoing a transformation of our planning and performance capabilities and processes, with the ambition to significantly enhance the value the Commercial Finance teams offer to the business. This role will report into the Finance Director – Commercial Planning & Performance and play a crucial part in supporting the Commercial Finance Directors of the Business Units.
You will be responsible for delivering monthly Executive reports, providing valuable data insight (financial and operational) to support decision making to enhance business unit performance and support the budgeting and forecasting process. We’re seeking tech-savvy individuals to drive improvements and efficiencies in our monthly and external reporting, enhance performance analytics, and streamline the forecasting and budgeting process by optimising system capabilities.
This role will collaborate and partner closely with the Commercial Finance Managers; Finance Directors of the Business Units; the Group Performance Management team and Group System’s expert. This role will advocate for the use of systems and support the overall upskilling of the Commercial Finance teams, enhancing their technological capabilities.
To be successful in this role, you’ll be proactive, have a proven track record of advanced use of system planning tools, detail-oriented and adept at leading system initiatives. You will be able to form effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders across the business, be self-motivated, driven and have a passion for improving and enhancing processes. Strong communication, system and analytical skills are essential.
Principal Accountabilities
- Business Unit Executive Insights and Reporting: Preparation and innovation of the monthly forward-looking Executive insights report for one of our internal business units (Retail or Workplace), playing a critical role in the messaging of performance against our strategic objectives to the senior leadership team to agreed SLAs. Collaborate with the Commercial Finance Managers in the segment to gain a comprehensive understanding of the key performance drivers; both financial and operational, internal and external; and deliver clear impactful reports to influence decision-making.
- External Reporting: Owns the production and understanding of operational statistics and business analysis included within half-year and year-end external reporting. Assist with the production of external disclosures and analysis, and manage audit queries relating to our reporting segments. Provide JV Management reporting in accordance with agreed SLAs in partnership with the Commercial Finance Managers.
- System led Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the monthly rolling forecasts working closely with the Commercial Finance Managers to understand key lease and cost assumptions. Expert in the planning tool, OneStream, to efficiently model lease and cost assumptions preparing concise and timely reports for the Commercial Finance Managers to agreed SLAs. Challenge and innovate current ways of working through system optimisation to transform the forecast and budget process creating capacity for further insight and analysis to drive the Business Units forwards.
- System Super User: Super user of the OneStream system, efficiently navigating the system, maintaining a suite of automated reports and building additional analysis as required by the business. Continuously challenge the status quo and use systems expertise to enhance all processes, reporting, analysis and insights. Stay at the forefront of system developments and builds, collaborating with the Group FP&A team in regards to system optimisation and rollouts to ensure full potential is realised.
- Other: Customer appraisal support for the Commercial Finance Managers. Ability to use other reporting tools such as PowerBi to analyse and integrate data effectively. Identify and report any inaccuracies in lease data to the lease administrators / Portfolio team. Keep up-to-date with relevant industry and economic news and use this to inform reporting and ad hoc analysis within the segment. Assist with other finance processes and projects, as required.
Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA). Ability to demonstrate a strong track record in accurate and timely Executive reporting. Experience of analysing information from a variety of sources to monitor and track performance and to predict trends including PowerBI experience. Keen interest in Systems and proven ability to work with financial planning and reporting tools, ideally OneStream. Budget and Forecasting experience. Strong Excel and PowerBi skills with the ability to present information in a way that’s clear and understandable to your audience.
