LOCATION

THE ROLE

The Assistant Cash & Bank Accountant is a new role in the Treasury Back Office team arising from the efficiencies gained from our recent finance transformation programme.

The role reflects realigned responsibilities based on complexity and risk for the Cash & Bank Accounting personnel, and supports greater process improvement and automation in the function.

The primary responsibility for the role is to prepare reconciliations for lower-risk and lower-volume bank accounts, and process tenant deposit and lease-related transactions.

The role will help support continuous improvement of cash and banking controls, and assist with identifying further opportunities for automation.

While being an escalation point for queries and exceptions identified to the Senior Cash & Bank Accountant, the role will also gain exposure to supporting our month-end close activities and actions taken to resolve reconciling items.

  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Completing daily / monthly bank reconciliations (automated / manual) for lower activity, lower‑risk bank accounts ensuring we identify further transactions for auto‑matching.
  • Managing tenant deposits including liaising with Asset Managers and managing drawdowns with the Accounts Payable team.
  • Assisting with a monthly reconciliation of tenant deposits between balances held in CMS (bank portal) and tenant deposit lease lines in D365.
  • Business partnering with the Lease Administration team to ensure D365 lease lines are appropriately created and maintained.
  • Assisting with ad‑hoc preparation of simple journal postings with assistance from the Treasury Reporting Accountant.
  • Investigating routine reconciling items and queries and maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation.
  • Escalating complex issues to the Senior Cash & Bank Accountant.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Good understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive approach to learning and development.
  • Ability to resolve routine issues independently.
  • Adaptability and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Life and Benefits at Landsec
  • Performance based annual bonus plan
  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) rising to 27 days after 2 years and the option to purchase up to 10 additional days each year.
  • Enjoy an additional three-day December festive break on top of your leave and a special 'My Day' to take off for whatever you choose.
  • Enhanced pension contributions - Landsec will contribute up to 10.5% subject to your contribution.
  • Private medical insurance, Health Cash Plan, Life assurance and income protection.
  • Enhanced maternity, adoption, shared parental leave policies (view our Family policies page for more details)
