Higher Level Teaching Assistant Fixed Term Temporary post for Maternity Cover - 16.5hrs per week over 3 days (Tues - Thurs) To be paid at NJC Grade D8 - £13.90 per hour Plus Wrap Around Care roles After School Club Assistant - 6 hrs per week 3.30 - 5.30pm @ £13.26ph Breakfast Club - 3 hrs per week 7.45 - 8.45am @ £12.85ph Temporary Posts to commence asap.
Required to join our successful and caring team at Landscove, this post is to work across the school and involves covering teachers’ timetabled PPA each week and providing general support for the learning of the classes under the direction of the teacher. You will also be required to cover classes when teachers are absent due to training and occasionally staff illness.
In addition to the HLTA role, we would require the successful person to cover our popular Breakfast and After School Club roles at either end of the day. We are looking for someone with a strong, sensitive and caring approach to children’s needs, who is able to be an effective communicator and think creatively. You will need to show a high degree of initiative and be solution focused.

You will need to show initiative, creativity and demonstrate the aptitude to work as part of a successful and growing team to improve the life chances of our pupils and make every child feel ‘special’.
Ideally, you will:
- Have HLTA or equivalent qualifications
- Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents
- Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and be able to maintain consistent boundaries
- Be willing to work as part of a team
- Be energetic, positive and enthusiastic
- Be able to use your own initiative when required
The wrap around care roles involve promoting and supervising active play and ensuring the safety of all children for our wrap around care provision. You will be able to help lead the clubs, plan sessions, provide fun activities, prepare and serve simple breakfast and snacks, and use your initiative to maintain a high-quality environment that children thrive in.
L2 Food Hygiene training will need to be completed which is an online course provided by the Trust. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and Social Media online check.
