We are looking for a Solicitor to join Invicta Law’s Child Protection Team, undertaking meaningful public law work that directly impacts the lives of children and families. This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied public childcare caseload within a supportive, experienced and collaborative team, with advocacy responsibilities tailored to your experience and confidence. You’ll work closely with social workers and partner agencies, helping local authorities make lawful, timely and child focused decisions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a caseload of public childcare law matters, including care proceedings and related applications
- Undertaking case preparation and advocacy commensurate with experience, or working alongside Counsel
- Advising social workers and other professionals on all aspects of child protection law
- Building effective working relationships with clients, courts and partner agencies
- Undertaking legal research and contributing to shared learning within the team
- Attending internal and external meetings as a representative of Invicta Law
- Supporting and mentoring junior and non admitted colleagues
- Working in line with quality assurance, supervision and compliance requirements
What we’re looking for:
- A qualified Solicitor or Lawyer with a current practising certificate
- Experience of child protection / public law children work or strong transferable experience
- Applicants from private practice or other legal backgrounds are welcome
- Sound legal drafting, research and case management skills
- Confidence working under pressure with appropriate supervision
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team focused approach
- Commitment to learning, development and high professional standards
