Rotherham is undergoing a period of significant investment in its Town Centre including the recent transformation of Forge Island and the creation of new public spaces Riverside Gardens and Rotherham Markets.
Our Places Fund will see future investment of £2m Council Capital to further improve public realm connections in key gateway locations and in civic sites across the borough. Pride in Place funding will see significant long-term investment in community facilities over the next 10 years. Council Capital investment of £2m and Playgrounds funding in Play Areas will see investment in 20+ sites over the next two years.
To support us in the delivery of this, we are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Landscape Architect to work within the Council’s long established Landscape Design Team. This role offers a great opportunity to work within a team of experienced practitioners, to lead on the design and implementation of a wide range of projects, from large-scale Play investment to Public Realm and Environmental Improvement projects, new schools, parks masterplans and housing regeneration schemes.
Our ideal candidate would hold a landscape Institute accredited qualification, be a Chartered landscape institute member and have experience of working in a landscape or multi-disciplinary practice and looking to further their career as a Landscape Architect. Experience of LVIA would also be advantageous.
We can offer a friendly supportive team, flexible working arrangements, and the opportunity to lead project teams from concept to delivery and really see your designs come to life on the ground! You should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have strong communication skills, and excellent design, graphic presentation, and CAD skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading projects and contract management of JCLI, JCT and NEC contracts for Landscape projects.
