We are seeking to appoint two exceptional leaders to Chair two of our standing committees – Education and Careers and Knowledge and Practice. The successful candidates will be inclusive and values‑led leaders who will drive forward the delivery of the LI’s work in two important areas through collaboration and facilitation. With a place on the Board, they will also be part of the leadership and governance of the LI.

The Landscape Institute is the UK’s chartered body for landscape professionals and an educational charity committed to advancing the practice of landscape. Through the work of our members, we strive to protect, enhance and conserve the natural and built environment, creating places that benefit both people and nature. Members are at the heart of the LI. Supporting the professional development and practice of our members drives and motivates everyone engaged within the LI.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a member to bring their strong leadership and communication skills to Chair one of the Standing Committees. The role of the committee is to provide insight, information and advice to the Council and Board to ensure well‑informed decisions and activity. The committee will report to the Council and provide regular updates of activities and plans and present an annual report to the Board. The Chair of the Standing Committee has a real tangible impact on the work of the LI and that of the landscape profession.

Key Criteria

A key criteria for the role is a compassionate leadership style; you will have a strong team player ethos and proven experience and understanding of the link between Board, Governance, strategy and delivery.
