Landor is looking for a Management Accountant to join our London studio. We are Landor, world-leading brand experts, underpinned by the most expansive strategic and creative capabilities in our category. We make brands more valuable and less vulnerable. We build brands differently, working with our clients to define and solve their business problems through the lens of brand.
As part of our lively and energetic finance team, the management accountant role is responsible for monthly and year-end management accounting. This role requires strong attention to detail, proactivity, and the ability to build strong relationships within the team and the rest of the business.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparation of timely and accurate monthly and year-end management accounting, analysis and reporting aligned with WPP policies.
- Preparation of variance analysis and monthly commentary.
- Provide input into monthly management reports and ad hoc reporting.
- Ensure that the required evidence is maintained for month end accounting aligned with IFRS and SOX controls.
- Ensure that at month end close all finance systems (Maconomy, Sugar and SAP Cartesis) are reconciled.
- Review of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations prepared by Financeplus and ensure ageing or reconciling balances are actively managed and resolved.
- Management of accruals and prepayments schedules including substantiation of each individual balance.
- Overseeing Inter-Company overhead recharges.
- Review inter-company reporting at month-end and deal with queries via Financeplus.
- Prepare and submit monthly flash and actuals aligned with WPP deadlines.
- Assist with external, internal, client audits.
- Preparation of statutory/regulatory returns such as accounts, VAT, PSA, P11d and R&D Tax Credit preparation.
- Review of Balance Sheet to ensure any risks are minimised/escalated as necessary.
- Work with Maconomy support team to get the best reports from the system to assist the business.
- Assist with budget and forecast cycle.
- Develop and drive system processes and controls in ensuring compliance with relevant SOX controls.
- Review and approval of vendor set-up.
- Review AP ageing commentary provided by Financeplus and provide appropriate amendments or highlight follow up requirements, where required.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.

Required Experience
- Part Qualified/Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel.
- Experience working with finance system, preferably Maconomy.
- A strong understanding of IFRS.
- Strong experience of SOX controls required.
- Strong technical knowledge of P&L and Balance sheet.
