A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director in this Charity / Hospitality environment for this residential conference, events, retreats centre and a great place to stay when in London; a real urban oasis of peace in one of the busiest cities on the globe. Close by to the City of London, the charity has been established for an age or more and is utilised by some of the most inspirational charities and not for profit organisations who come to the facility and do great work.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as a business partner to the General Manager and through them to the department managers as required.
- Maintaining the organisation’s financial records to reflect at all times a complete and accurate picture of the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Account (making use of the Sage Intacct system).
- Be responsible for the chart of accounts including timely monthly close, balance sheet reconciliation/adjustment, corporate & tax returns, VAT quarterly returns, Gift Aid, processing of trading subsidiary entries & reporting.
- Monitoring & Reporting – Develop high quality management information and performance measurement, develop new reports and KPIs that highlight relevant financial information for the senior team & Board of Trustees and develop new automated processes as appropriate.
- Audit – including preparation & planning for annual audit with liaison & support of the Auditors.
- Payroll & HR operations support of the Accounts Assistant in their duties.
- Oversee the Financial Assistant in their work of HR administration of key processes around training/learning/recruitment and compliance.
- Cashflow management.
- Ensure the organisation takes advantage of, and complies with, tax and other legislation affecting charities and hospitality business.
- Ensure that financial and reporting systems operate in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures and legislation.
- Act as Data Protection Officer and ensure GDPR compliance.
- Budget & Financial appraisals.
- Learn, Use and Improve the systems to meet accounting, analysis and reporting process needs, maintaining the daily journal interface between the hospitality booking system (Rezlynx) and Sage Intacct (accounting system) ensuring that it is correctly mapped.
- Represent the organisation in person from time to time in a manner and style reflecting the Charity’s ethos and core values. This will include attending & representing the charity at events including but not limited to professional corporate, charity, community and social events.
Qualifications:
- CCAB accounting qualification or equivalent (ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA, ICAS, Chartered Accountants Ireland).
- Technical and Operational Experience to be able to fulfil the functions identified.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and evidence of effective people and change management.
- Ability to work with others including clients and suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills.
