A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Finance professional to join this Christian Charity and Educational establishment as their Head of Finance (0.8 FTE). The charity has been providing excellent service for over 50 years and the Head of Finance role requires a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) to lead a small team and take responsibility for the control, direction and management all their financial resources in order to meet organisational objectives, statutory obligations and best practice financial management standards. In addition, the post holder will provide financial analysis and advice to assist the general management and strategic development of the organisation. Reporting to the CEO and the board, as Head of Finance you are an important part of the SLT offering guidance and strategy on all things finance. Responsibilities include: Ensuring compliance for financial reporting, in particular completion of the Annual Financial Return, manage the year end audit process and auditors and compliance with all relevant laws such as tax, GDPR, Company & Charity requirements, filing accounts on time and completing annual returns. Providing monthly updates for budget holders. You will review, upgrade and continually manage the development of financial systems (current knowledge of Sage 50 Cloud accounts and Sage 50 Cloud payroll and Intuit Quickbooks helpful), controls and associated reporting mechanisms. You will carry out regular budgeting, forecasting and financial planning at request of CEO or Board and highlight financial challenges facing the organisation. You will also be the Company Secretary for the College and the Trading Company and take responsibility for Company Secretarial duties and line manage the other members of the finance department including overseeing payroll and potentially HR. You will take responsibility for the security and management of all organisational financial resources.
The role is a hybrid remote working / office-based with the ability to visit their offices for a minimum of 1 or 2 days a week in the Home Counties and offers a salary up to just over £45,000 (pro rata) + a great benefits package. The charity is a Christian organisation, based upon those principles and there is a GOR under the Equality Act 2010 for post holders to have an active and practising Christian Faith and to support those values, mission and principles of the charity.
