An experienced Digital Programme Manager with strong team leading and digital/website programme management and open to a hands-on approach will have a fantastic opportunity available for this charity/NfP membership organisation based in London. The Digital Programme Manager can be predominantly home office based or work more regularly in their central London offices, with applications looked at flexibly for UK “right to work” candidates who cannot easily reach London.
The organisation is a global leader in their field and this is a 12 month+ maternity cover role in an established programme as Digital Programme Manager in their organisational change Digital Change Programme to help them transform and be fit for the future. Reporting to their Head of Membership, the Digital Programme Manager will lead a small internal team including Technical Lead and Digital Project Managers and be responsible for the programme delivery of a variety of digital solutions with budgets ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands, managing contract resources and third-party agency developers, with budgetary responsibility of between £0.5 and £0.75 million.
Core technologies include Drupal, some Wordpress and Salesforce CRM, Jira, Confluence, Pantheon hosting services and Teams/Outlook. The organisation does not have their own internal development teams and works with a number of roster agencies on project delivery around the core technologies, as well as having external support around web analytics and infrastructure.
The Programme Manager’s responsibilities include:
- Contract management and negotiation
- Governance (ensuring appropriate reporting – weekly/bi-monthly/monthly – on projects, budgets, resourcing, etc.)
- BAU maintenance of the digital estate ensuring it is secure and maintained
- Working closely with internal colleagues across IT and Communications/Marketing on delivering the programme of works
You are an experienced Digital Programme Manager with a demonstrable track record of success in digital programme delivery and a solid knowledge and experience in Waterfall and Agile project delivery with a range of public-facing digital projects. You have strong skills in project management tools (Jira/MS Project) and excellent knowledge of digital technologies and how web systems are constructed. Experience of working in Charity/NfP, public-facing sector or membership organisation environments is very helpful. Experience with Drupal and Salesforce/CRM projects is desired but not essential. More important are the attitude and skills to communicate and deliver with a variety of internal and third-party/external parties in a collaborative approach to delivery.
