Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Urban Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team. In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working in an outdoor environment, dedicated to supporting the Military. Landmarc provide full training and continuous development opportunities, making this a fantastic opportunity to start a career on the Defence Training Estate. Shifts run between: 07:00 - 23:59 from Monday to Sunday.

Hours of work: 37 per week

Contract: Permanent

Annual Allowances: £1,127.50 for working weekends

Location: Wathgill Camp, Wathgill, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6AH

Main Responsibilities

  • To operate, maintain, and fault‐find on Audio‐Visual systems.
  • Prepare facilities, complete handovers/take‐backs, brief users, and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • General maintenance, vegetation control, stock management, and operation of rural plant/machinery.
  • Follow COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Control access, report defects, and deal with unauthorised persons on the training estate.
  • Complete IT and paper‐based records accurately and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with service users and maintain strong working relationships.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with AV systems, equipment testing, and basic fault‐finding.
  • Confident in labouring, caretaking, housekeeping, and operating rural plant/machinery (with valid certification).
  • Strong understanding of H&S procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Able to work well with customers, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to complete documentation accurately.
  • Basic IT skills essential.
  • Understanding of range standing orders (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to meet objectives and deliver results.
  • A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role.
