Landmarc, a joint venture between Mitie and Amentum, is seeking an accomplished Area Operations Manager to lead operations across Defence Training Estate locations in the Home Counties. This is a highâprofile leadership role, central to delivering exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and strong commercial performance.
With responsibility for a diverse team and a broad portfolio of hard and soft FM services, this position is ideal for a commercially aware manager who thrives on partnership, communication, and driving continuous improvement.
- Opportunity to lead a team of 75 staff across multiple sites
- Be at the forefront of customer service and service delivery
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the area operations team, promoting a culture of wellbeing and continuous improvement
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with customers and stakeholders
- Ensure all contractual, statutory, and maintenance obligations are delivered within KPI requirements
- Oversee construction and infrastructure projects, from refurbishments to new builds
- Manage compliance across service modules, including budgeting, audits, and stakeholder engagement
- Act as deputy to the Regional Operations Manager when required
- Support regional initiatives, including investigations, training, and operational planning
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a multiâsite team
- A degree in Facilities Management or equivalent experience
- Professional membership (e.g., IWFM) is advantageous
- Health & Safety qualification, ideally NEBOSH general certificate
- Strong understanding of both hard and soft FM services
- Experience developing service delivery plans and operational procedures
- Excellent organisational, planning, and customer service capabilities
- Able to manage competing priorities in a fastâmoving environment
Travel Expectations
This is a regional role covering multiple sites in the South East area.
- Occasional travel across Home Counties sites (Portsmouth to Oxford)
- Daily travel between Pirbright and Longmoor, depending on business needs
- Business mileage is reimbursed in addition to the car allowance
