Job Introduction
Landmarc Support Services is recruiting a Training Area Operative to support the Armed Forces on the Defence Training Estate. The role involves maintaining a safe, efficient, and sustainable training environment.
Working outdoors and supporting the Military is central to this position. Training and development are provided.
An enthusiastic "can do" attitude is required.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the Defence Training Estate is kept in top condition
- Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment (training provided)
- Manufacture and deploy targets
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective training area delivery
- Report unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate
- Hand over / take back of facilities
- Drive and operate fleet vehicles
- Use warning systems, such as training control offices, flags and lights
- Ensure facilities comply with strict safety protocols
- Complete all necessary documentation using IT and paper-based systems
The Ideal Candidate
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance
- Basic labouring, caretaking and housekeeping skills (desirable)
- Experience as a range / training area user (desirable)
- Basic IT skills, including use of a tablet
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast‑paced team environment
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety protocols
- Valid UK manual driving licence essential
