Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team. In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train. We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working in an outdoor environment, dedicated to supporting the Military. About the Organisation
Landmarc provides the essential support services that enable Armed Forces to train for frontline operations across the UK Defence Training Estate. We maintain safe, sustainable infrastructure, operate training areas and ranges, and deliver major projects that enhance vital military training assets. What You’ll Do
- Ensure that the Defence Training Estate is kept in top condition
- Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks
- Grounds and Landscape Maintenance
- Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided)
- Manufacturing and deploying targets
- Equipment testing calibrating
- Driving and operating fleet vehicles
- Waste and Vegetation management
- Use of Warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights
- Ensure that the facilities adhere to strict safety protocols
- Complete all necessary documentation using both IT and paper-based systems
What We’re Looking For
- Knowledge of Landscape Maintenance and Grounds Maintenance
- Basic IT skills with ability to use a tablet
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH protocols and risk assessments
- Flexibility to cover additional sites
- A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role
- Knowledge of working in a rural environment
- Knowledge of range assignment instructions and range standing orders
- Experience of track and fencing maintenance
- Experience as a range / training area user
