Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team. In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train. We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working in an outdoor environment, dedicated to supporting the Military. Landmarc provide full training and continuous development opportunities, making this a fantastic opportunity to start a career on the Defence Training Estate. Shifts run between: 08:00 - 16:30 from Monday to Sunday. Hours of work: 37 per week. Contract: Permanent. Annual Allowances: £1,127.50 for working weekends. Location: Parsonage Farm, Warminster, Wiltshire, BA12 0AY.
Main Responsibilities
- Opening and closing small arms ranges
- Carrying out range clearance including raising and lowering of boundary flags
- Carry out ground's maintenance including grass cutting and general maintenance of small arms ranges
- Carrying out maintenance both preventative and reactive across the training estate
- Carry out as part of a team the delivery, servicing, maintenance and collection of portable sanitation units across the training estate
- Manufacturing wooden targets, testing and issuing electronic Targetry
- Operating a wide range of vehicles and equipment: 4x4's, ATV's, ride on mowers, tractors, strimmer's etc.
- Ensuring all facilities comply with health and safety requirements
The Ideal Candidate
- Knowledge of Landscape Maintenance
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Familiarity with rural machinery and off-road driving (training provided)
- Ability to read OS maps and navigate the estate effectively
- Basic IT skills with ability to use a tablet
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety protocols
- A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role
