We’re looking for a Training Area Team Leader to coordinate a dedicated team and oversee the delivery of essential estate services.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll be the first point of contact for your team, ensuring tasks are allocated effectively and standards are consistently met. You’ll help maintain the operational readiness of training facilities, liaise with stakeholders, and uphold safety and compliance across the estate.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and coordinate a team, acting as first‑line manager and point of contact.
  • Allocate tasks, check work quality, and ensure service delivery meets the contract.
  • Oversee maintenance activities including grounds care, equipment testing, soft FM, waste services, and vegetation control.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are followed, including access control, flag protocols, and incident reporting.
  • Liaise with service users, military representatives, contractors, and the public to ensure smooth facility handovers and safe usage.
  • Stock management.
  • Operate fleet vehicles and plant machinery as required.
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

You’re a confident leader with a practical mindset and a strong understanding of rural environments and training area operations. Your safety‑conscious mindset, proactive approach, and ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders are essential.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in rural or outdoor environments.
  • Knowledge of range assignment instructions and standing orders.
  • Previous experience as a range or training area user.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Understanding health & safety practices (COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments).
  • Familiarity with estate services, grounds maintenance, and plant machinery.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development.
  • Vaccinated against workplace risks (e.g. Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A & B).
  • Valid UK manual driving licence (essential).

Our Values

  • Care for yourself and others.
  • Integrity in everything we do.
  • Customer first.
  • Commitment to what we promise.
  • Pride in our work.

Our Behaviours

  • Live our values every day.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Give and receive feedback to grow together.
  • Embrace flexibility and adapt to change.
