Location: Ballykinler Camp, Northern Ireland, BT30 0EQ

Shifts run between: 07:00 - 17:30 from Monday to Friday with some weekend work required.

Annual Allowances: £1,127.50 for working weekends

Landmarc Support Services is recruiting a Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team at Ballykinler Training Camp. This practical, outdoor-based role involves maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-kept training environment. We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in practical skills who is ready to build a long-term career. You will receive full training and ongoing development to grow your expertise and take on new challenges within the Defence Training Estate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Defence Training Estate to the highest standards
  • Carrying out tasks across rural and urban environments
  • Operating RADAR and CCTV systems to support site safety
  • Performing planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance
  • Operating and maintaining plant and equipment (training provided)
  • Manufacturing and deploying training targets
  • Driving and operating fleet vehicles across the estate
  • Managing warning systems including control offices, flags, and lights
  • Ensuring all activities follow strict safety protocols
  • Completing documentation using both digital and paper-based systems
  • Supporting the team with additional duties such as cleaning and general upkeep

The ideal candidate

  • Skilled in general maintenance and tool use
  • Knowledge of rural maintenance and confident working outdoors
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
  • Clear and professional communicator
  • Comfortable using tablets and basic IT systems
  • A dependable team player who thrives in fast-paced environments
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Holds a valid Manual UK Driving Licence (essential for fleet operations)

About the Company

Landmarc provides the support services that enable Armed Forces from around the world to prepare for frontline military operations across the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE). This includes maintaining and delivering safe and sustainable infrastructure, managing and operating training areas and ranges and delivering multi-million pound projects to improve vital training assets. By joining Landmarc you will be supporting our vision to provide the best training experience we can for our Armed Forces. We are the first and only Special Purpose Vehicle to be contracted by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) as their Industry Partner on the UK Defence Training Estate and the only company that is solely dedicated to the UK DTE, delivering essential support services since 2003.
