Landmarc Support Services are currently looking for a Rural Operative to join our dedicated team. In this hands‑on role, you will take on key responsibilities to ensure the Rural Estate remains in top condition for its intended use.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working outdoors with a good understanding of rural environments. Shifts run between:08:00 – 16:00 from Monday to Friday.

Hours of work: 37 per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Otterburn Training Camp, Otterburn, Northumberland, (Newcastle-upon-Tyne) NE19 1NX

Main Responsibilities

  • General Rural estate maintenance on a 58,000 acre estate
  • Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Fencing and Stone Track repairs and maintenance
  • Forestry works including; felling, tree planting, and vegetation control
  • Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Driving and operating fleet vehicles including ATVs, diggers and tractors.
  • Ensure that the Rural Estate adhere to strict safety protocols
  • Complete all necessary documentation using both IT and paper-based systems

The Ideal Candidate

  • Enthusiasm and passion for a wide range of Rural tasks and working outdoors
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • Comfortable to work in a small team and on own initiative
  • Ability to complete documentation
  • Good IT skills with the ability to use a tablet
  • Applicants must hold valid Manual UK driving licence in order to carry out the duties of this role
  • In date certificates in regards to rural estate maintenance would be an advantage

About the Company

Landmarc provides the support services that enable Armed Forces from around the world to prepare for frontline military operations across the UK Defence Training Estate (DTE). This includes maintaining and delivering safe and sustainable infrastructure, managing and operating training areas and ranges and delivering multi-million pound projects to improve vital training assets.
