Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit an Urban Training Area Operative to join our team. In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train. Shift and Location Details

  • Shifts run between 07:00 and 23:59 from Monday to Sunday.
  • Hours of work: 37 per week.
  • Contract: Permanent.
  • Annual allowance for weekend work: £1,127.50.
  • Location: Wathgill Camp, Wathgill, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6AH.

Main Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and fault‑find Audio‑Visual systems.
  • Prepare facilities, complete handovers/take‑backs, brief users, and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Conduct general maintenance, vegetation control, stock management and operate rural plant/machinery.
  • Follow COSHH, manual handling, risk assessment and safe systems of work.
  • Control access, report defects and deal with unauthorised persons on the training estate.
  • Maintain accurate IT and paper‑based records.
  • Communicate effectively with service users and maintain strong working relationships.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with AV systems, equipment testing and basic fault‑finding.
  • Confident in labouring, caretaking, housekeeping and operating rural plant/machinery (with valid certification).
  • Strong understanding of H&S procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Ability to work well with customers, colleagues and external partners.
  • Reliable, proactive and able to complete documentation accurately.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Understanding of range standing orders (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to meet objectives and deliver results.
  • A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role.
