We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working in an outdoor environment, dedicated to supporting the Military. Join our dedicated team as a Training Area Operative and play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train.

Workload: Varies based on firing schedules. To be discussed in interview.

Contract: Variable Hours (Minimum 8 hours per month guaranteed). Rota's will be provided monthly to ensure availability.

Location: Okehampton Training Camp, Okehampton, Devon, EX20 1QP. Interviews to be held Wednesday 20th May. Please note that all interview‑related correspondence will be sent via email. We recommend regularly checking your inbox, including your junk folder.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Raise and lower safety flags; open/close barriers.
  • Operate warning systems.
  • Control of access, including manning access control points.
  • General maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Driving and operating fleet vehicles.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure effective training area delivery, e.g.; handover/take back of facilities.
  • Maintain safety and condition of the Defence Training Estate.
  • Follow strict health and safety protocols.
