The predicted salary is between 25989 - 26403 £ per year.

Salary: NJC Grade C: £25,989 - £26,403 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)

Working Pattern: These are fixed term positions working part-time or full-time hours, 39 weeks per year until 31st August 2027 (Monday to Friday). Part-time hours to be discussed at interview. Full-time hours are 29.15 hours per week.

About the Role

Working under the guidance of teaching and senior staff, you will support learning in both the classroom and small-group settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils’ welfare and personal care, including those with SEND
  • Implementing literacy and numeracy interventions
  • Assisting with planning cycles and preparing learning resources
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil independence
  • You will also assist with supervision during break/lunchtimes and accompany pupils on trips when required.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who can bring compassion and commitment to the role. Essential qualities include:

  • Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning
  • Strong communication skills, including confidence and fluency in spoken English
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to relate well to both children and adults

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Knowledge of SEN practices and the national curriculum
  • Additional training in learning strategies such as literacy or numeracy
  • NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent
