Job Description

Bolt Burdon Kemp, a top-ranked London law firm, is looking for a warm, organised and proactive Front of House Assistant to help create an exceptional experience for clients and visitors to our office. You’ll join a friendly, supportive team in a varied role where no two days are the same and where your care, professionalism and attention to detail will make a genuine difference, particularly for visitors who may need additional support.

What you’ll do

  • Create a warm, professional welcome for everyone visiting or working at our EC1A office.
  • Coordinate meeting room bookings, maintain internal guest lists and arrange refreshments.
  • Keep client-facing areas immaculate and provide polished hospitality for meetings and in-house events.
  • Manage building access, visitors and deliveries smoothly and securely.
  • Support clients and colleagues in person and by telephone, responding with patience, discretion and empathy; some clients may be vulnerable and require additional assistance while visiting the office.
  • Answer switchboard calls promptly and deliver consistently excellent customer service.
  • Provide occasional cover for the Support team and help with relevant administrative and housekeeping tasks.

What you’ll bring

  • At least one year’s experience in a busy front-of-house role within a professional-services environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage sensitively with vulnerable clients, colleagues and visiting professionals.
  • Strong organisation, exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • A positive, flexible approach, with the ability to manage deadlines and support the wider team.
  • A confident, approachable and proactive manner, together with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
  • First-aid and fire marshal training would be welcome, but it is not essential, we’ll provide training.

Working pattern: Flexible hours between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm on a rota basis, with occasional cover for out-of-hours events and emergencies.

At Bolt Burdon Kemp, people come first, our clients and our colleagues. We are a leading London clinical negligence and personal injury law firm, recognised for our expertise, compassion and commitment to justice. You’ll be trusted to contribute, supported to develop and welcomed into a collaborative team that values the difference you make.

What you can look forward to:

  • Unlimited holiday, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical insurance, life assurance, subsidised gym membership and a bike-to-work scheme.
  • Clear career progression and a genuine commitment to promoting from within.
  • Continuous learning and development, from role-specific training to leadership programmes.
  • A friendly, vibrant culture, with regular social events, clubs and a modern EC1 London office.

Bolt Burdon Kemp is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
