Landau is a supported employment and training charity transforming over 800 lives annually across the West Midlands through employment routes, learning access, social enterprise and personal development. We are a growing, diverse organisation delivering high-quality, sustainable services. We are seeking a Bank Tutor to provide cover for absent tutors and deliver engaging learning experiences to small groups through Landau’s programmes. The role involves teaching Functional Skills English and Maths, employability and vocational qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2, using creative approaches that build confidence and support learners to progress toward their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery of high-quality programmes meeting diverse learner needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Deliver engaging sessions leading to accredited qualifications including ASDAN Vocational Courses, Employability, and Functional Skills English and Maths (Entry Level–Level 2).
  • Plan and adapt differentiated session materials to meet learner needs and subject specifications.
  • Assess, plan and monitor learners with EHCPs, contributing to reviews and multi-agency meetings as required.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessment and regular progress reviews to support achievement of individual learning plans.
  • Guide Learning Support Assistants to ensure effective delivery and compliance with legal and contractual EHCP requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement, reflective practice and professional development within the delivery team.
  • Support learners’ personal and social development, promoting confidence, high expectations and positive behaviour.
  • Prepare learners for external exams and assessments through effective marking, monitoring and feedback.
  • Contribute to internal verification and moderation processes to ensure quality and successful external submission.
  • Complete course administration accurately and on time, including learner registrations.
  • Deliver enrichment, tutorials and high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG) to support progression and independent living skills.
  • Work flexibly within the wider Landau team to support organisational growth and development.
  • Maintain professional updating and awareness of statutory and non-statutory guidance.
  • Liaise with parents, carers and stakeholders to support learner progress.
  • Provide pastoral support and uphold safeguarding, Equality Duties, British values and Prevent responsibilities.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes including observations, peer review, self-evaluation and improvement planning.

  • Contribute to team and departmental meetings.
  • Organise and prioritise workload effectively and supervise staff where required.

    Salary: £21 - £26.25 per hour (dependent on experience)
