We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Support Worker to join Landau. This role focuses on providing person‑centred support to adults with learning disabilities, helping them develop life skills, independence and confidence while participating in educational, vocational and community activities. You will promote inclusion, dignity and choice, contributing to a safe, positive and empowering environment where individuals can achieve their goals. Landau is a supported employment and training charity that transforms over 800 lives annually across the West Midlands by providing routes to employment, access to learning and support for personal growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day support in line with individual care and support plans.
  • Work with tutors to identify and deliver tailored support and interventions.
  • Support safe participation in centre‑based and community activities.
  • Provide targeted support to help individuals complete tasks and develop skills, confidence and independence.
  • Identify and address barriers to learning and engagement.
  • Support learner portfolios, assessments, reviews and accurate record‑keeping where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour management in line with policies.
  • Contribute to creative approaches to engagement and programme delivery.
  • Provide pastoral support, information, advice and guidance to promote progression.
  • Maintain accurate records including daily notes, incident reports and support plans.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and confidentiality policies and report concerns promptly.
  • Keep managers and tutors informed of learner progress and liaise with stakeholders where appropriate.
  • Provide 1:1 support in line with personal care plans and risk assessments.
  • Act as key worker for identified learners, promoting engagement and achievement.
  • Monitor health, wellbeing and welfare, including safeguarding requirements.
  • Provide flexible support across the organisation as required.

Other Duties

  • Contribute to team meetings.
  • Promote the charity positively and professionally.
  • Provide management information and organisational support as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Qualification in supporting learners with additional needs in the care sector (Care certificate or NVQ care).
  • Experience of supporting adults with learning difficulties.
  • Experience of meeting the requirements of learners with robust care plans.
  • Experience planning, preparing or adapting resources to meet learner need.
  • Safeguarding and/or First Aid training or willingness to train.
  • Mandatory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) disclosure at an Enhanced level.

Skills and Attributes

  • Creative and innovative, able to devise practical approaches that will interest and motivate learners.
  • Good IT skills and ability to undertake essential administrative or reporting tasks.
  • Strong commitment to supporting all learners.
  • Excellent organisational skills, time‑keeping and reliability.
  • Able to build trust and rapport with both learners post‑16 and adult learners.
  • Resilience, positivity and team working.
  • Ability to plan, risk assess and supervise off‑site activity such as visits or work experience placements.
