Responsibilities As SENDCo, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership of SEND provision, ensuring high-quality support and strong outcomes for all students with additional needs
  • Drive a culture of inclusion, ensuring adaptive teaching is consistently strong across the curriculum
  • Lead and develop a skilled team, including teaching assistants and intervention staff
  • Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews and external agency engagement with rigour and precision
  • Use data intelligently to identify need, evaluate impact and refine provision
  • Work closely with senior leaders to ensure SEND is central to school improvement and Ofsted readiness
  • Build strong relationships with families, ensuring they are valued partners in their child's education

Holds (or is working towards) the National Award for SEND Coordination (NASENCO)

Has a proven track record of impactful SEND leadership in a secondary setting

Demonstrates deep understanding of inclusive pedagogy and adaptive teaching

Is highly organised, resilient and able to lead with clarity and compassion

Can articulate and evidence the impact of provision on student outcomes

Is committed to delivering excellence for all students, particularly the most vulnerable
