Painters & Blasters – Barrow-in-Furness Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site Security Clearance: Must already hold current SC Clearance We are currently looking for experienced Painters & Blasters to join a major industrial services team working on projects in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Industrial Painters, Industrial Blasters, Spray Painters and Blasters with a strong background in surface preparation and protective coatings. The successful Painter / Blaster will work as part of a skilled team, carrying out industrial surface preparation, blasting and coating application to high standards of quality, safety and efficiency. The business operates across four key areas: Access Marine Infrastructure Power Services include: Access solutions Containment and encapsulation Surface preparation Protective coating application Marine lagging Industrial cleaning The Role – Painter / Blaster As a Painter / Blaster, you will be responsible for carrying out industrial surface preparation and protective coating activities. The Painter / Blaster will work to project specifications and company procedures, ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Carry out industrial surface preparation using hand, mechanical and blasting techniques. * Undertake blasting activities to prepare surfaces for coating. * Apply protective coatings using appropriate painting and spraying techniques. * Carry out industrial painting and spray painting activities. * Follow preparation and painting specifications. * Carry out coating repair systems and remedial works. * Inspect completed work to ensure the required quality and finish is achieved. * Correctly operate and maintain relevant blasting, painting and spraying equipment. * Ensure surfaces are prepared to the required standard before coating application. * Follow all site health, safety and environmental procedures. * Work effectively with other Painters & Blasters and members of the wider project team. * Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. * Complete work in accordance with customer requirements and company standards. Requirements – Painters & Blasters We are looking for experienced Painters & Blasters who can demonstrate: * Previous experience working as an Industrial Painter, Blaster, Spray Painter or Painter/Blaster. * Experience in industrial surface preparation and coating application. * Knowledge of different blasting and painting techniques. * Experience with hand and mechanical preparation. * Knowledge of industrial painting techniques. * Experience with coating repair systems. * Ability to understand and work to preparation and painting specifications. * Familiarity with relevant blasting, painting and spraying equipment. * Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures. * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. * Strong work ethic and reliability. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Qualifications: Train the Painter / ICATS certification is desirable. Relevant industrial painting and blasting qualifications are advantageous. Current SC Security Clearance is essential. Security Clearance – Essential Due to the nature of the work, all Painters & Blasters must hold current SC Security Clearance. Candidates without current SC Clearance will not be considered for this position.
