Land & Sea Resources are recruiting an experienced Offshore Telecoms Technician to join Spirit Energy and support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of offshore telecommunications systems and equipment.
The Role
As an Offshore Telecoms Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and replacing telecoms systems and equipment offshore. Working closely with the E&I Team Lead and Production Team Lead, you will carry out planned and unplanned maintenance, troubleshoot faults and ensure equipment reliability and availability in line with maintenance programmes, company procedures and HSEQ standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned inspections, maintenance, repairs and calibration of offshore telecoms systems.
- Troubleshooting equipment faults, supporting root cause analysis and undertaking urgent maintenance to minimise operational disruption.
- Planning your own maintenance activities, managing stock requisitions, updating maintenance records in the MMS and providing effective shift handovers.
- Supervising specialist contractors and contributing to a positive safety culture, including participation in emergency response duties.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have proven offshore telecoms experience within the oil and gas E&P industry, supported by a vocational qualification in Instrumental or Electrical Engineering. You will have good troubleshooting, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with offshore teams and onshore technical specialists.
Qualifications and Certifications
Candidates must hold current valid Offshore Survival, Offshore Medical and MIST certifications, together with Compex Ex01β04. All Spirit Energy mandatory training will be required as applicable.
