Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria

Working pattern: 4 days onsite, 1 day working from home

Salary/Rate: DOE

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Applications Manager / IS Applications Lead to take responsibility for the delivery and performance of a wide range of business applications, with SAP at the core. This is an onsite role based in Barrow-in-Furness, working 4 days onsite and 1 day from home. Please note: applicants must already live within a reasonable commuting distance of Barrow-in-Furness or be willing to relocate.

The role

You will be responsible for managing and supporting a business-critical applications estate, working with internal teams, business users and external technology providers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the overall performance and delivery of business applications
  • Managing third-party suppliers and outsourced support teams
  • Overseeing application hosting, systems and integrations
  • Managing application licences, renewals and contracts
  • Managing application upgrades, changes and releases
  • Leading application projects, implementations and replacements
  • Coordinating testing and UAT
  • Managing application incidents and escalations
  • Maintaining application documentation and service information
  • Supporting audits, governance and assurance activities
  • Supporting cyber security assessments and incident response
  • Ensuring applications are secure, reliable and fit for purpose
  • Working closely with internal IT, IS and business teams
  • Providing day-to-day direction to outsourced technical resources

SAP

SAP is at the centre of the applications estate, so previous SAP experience is important. You will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the SAP landscape and integrations
  • Managing SAP change, upgrades and releases
  • Supporting SAP hosting and technical services
  • Working with external SAP support providers
  • Ensuring SAP controls and processes are maintained
  • Coordinating SAP changes between the business and external providers
  • Acting as a key point of contact for SAP-related issues and escalations

About you

We are looking for someone with strong experience in applications management within a technical or complex organisation. You should have experience with:

  • Business and enterprise applications
  • SAP
  • Application support and service management
  • Third-party suppliers and outsourced service providers
  • Application change and release management
  • IT General Controls
  • Cyber security
  • Application testing and UAT
  • Contract and commercial management
  • Incident, problem and change management
  • PowerApps and Power BI

You will need to be confident managing suppliers, directing outsourced resources, dealing with escalations and working with stakeholders across the business. A degree in IT, Business or a related subject is desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.

Location requirement

This position is based in Barrow-in-Furness and requires 4 days onsite each week, with 1 day working from home. Applicants must live locally or be willing to relocate to the Barrow-in-Furness area. Unfortunately, this role is not suitable for candidates who are unable to commit to the onsite working requirement.
