Description: The Key Account Manager is responsible for driving sales performance and market access across the London and Southeast region by developing and executing strategic account plans. This role requires deep engagement with NHS stakeholders, including secondary care specialists and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), to ensure optimal patient access to promoted products. The position involves cross-functional collaboration and a strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, funding pathways, and competitive landscape.
Key responsibilities:
- Achieve sales targets through effective Key Account Management strategies.
- Develop and actively review account plans enabling optimal use of internal and external resources to drive sales uplift.
- Create a positive environment on the territory for all promoted products.
- Develop deep understanding of local health economy and patient access pathways.
- Gather and share competitor intelligence and market insights.
- Effective cross-functional working across marketing, medical, market access and the wider support functions.
- To understand and remain updated on the NHS environment both at a national level and throughout the local health economy, including funding streams.
Key requirements:
- Educated to degree level in a business or science subject.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Ideally with over 3 years branded (ethical) pharmaceutical sales experience in selling to secondary care specialists.
- Experience with strategic NHS including NHS England.
- Demonstrated sales success within the Pharmaceutical Industry.
- Ideally good networks and relationships within disease area and ICBs, would be an advantage.
- Highly organized and efficient, whilst maintaining flexibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
