Supporting the Accommodation Maintenance Team at The University of the West England (UWE), you will join a team responsible for the completion of both pre-planned and reactive remedial repairs and maintenance to the internal and external fabric of a wide variety of assets.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain high quality buildings, carrying out repairs and maintenance, both internal and external, to student accommodation.
- Plan and complete a range of works associated with minor joinery, tiling, drainage, finishes, flooring, etc.
- Complete reactive and remedial repairs as directed by the Lancer Scott Helpdesk.
- Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile client and deliver to the highest quality standards.
- Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities.
- Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with current regulations and contract specifications.
- Report and record procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
- Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
- Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works.
- Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times.
- Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis, representing the Company courteously and professionally.
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in Building Maintenance.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Good planning and organisational skills to keep on top of priorities.
- Good record keeping skills and comfortable using a PDA system.
- An adaptable team worker keen to get involved.
Desirable:
- CSCS Card.
- IT Skills in the use of PDA’s.
- Asbestos awareness training (UKATA).
