Tremendous opportunity for an HR Advisor to join our city centre based, Bristol head office. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will support the people operations and employee relations activities across our group of companies. As the successful applicant, you will be integral to the day-to-day people operations for our growing construction and facilities management businesses, which will likely include aiding on an upcoming TUPE transfer. You will take ownership of HR activities, offer expert guidance to employees and management, and contribute insights to help shape our future people strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice and guidance on people management activities relating to policies and procedures.
- Lead, guide and support managers with employee relations issues, including sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Provide support with TUPE, when required.
- Advise, support and influence at all levels of the organisation with confidence and credibility.
- Oversee HR operations, including processing terms and conditions changes, logging sickness records, and maintaining accurate HR records.
- Support the onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and positive candidate experience.
- Assist in reviewing and restructuring administrative activities to optimise efficiency and alignment.
- Contribute insights and recommendations to the development of the new people strategy.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Participate in projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- As an HR professional it is expected that you will have undertaken CIPD study to support your hands on experience which should encompass the provision of advice regarding people management issues.
- Knowledge of people management principles, practices, and employment legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong critical thinking skills alongside the ability to manage sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Strong working knowledge IT including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work under pressure with a range of priorities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
You could also have:
- Experience working within construction, facilities management or a similar industry.
- Experience in supporting TUPE.
- Experience working as an HR Advisor.
- Studied or studying an HR or People Management qualification.
