This role is only available to current employees of Lancaster University. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with young people to encourage social mobility and address educational inequality. With a creative approach and experience of working with young people, teachers, and schools/colleges, you will coordinate in‑person and online events and activities as part of the Lancaster Access Programme (LAP).

The LAP is a widening access scheme for Year 12 and 13 students from widening participation backgrounds. The programme gives prospective students access to a range of activities designed to introduce them to university, experience campus life, and prepare them for future study. You will work with participating students to monitor their progress and provide constructive feedback to maximise their learning so that they are able to achieve their potential, irrespective of barriers.

In this varied role you will develop your knowledge of a range of HE topics, including progression routes, student finance, the UCAS application process, and student life. You will develop workshops and deliver presentations at partner WP schools and colleges so that young people and their parents/carers are aware of the opportunities available at Lancaster University and are able to make informed decisions about higher education.

The capability and flexibility to work weekends and evenings is an essential element of the role, along with a willingness to travel across the Northwest and elsewhere within the UK.

We warmly welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of their age, religion, gender identity or expression, race, disability or sexual orientation, and are committed to promoting diversity and equality of opportunity.
